Three years ago today, 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed his mother before storming a nearby elementary school, killing 20 first grade students and 6 faculty and staff members. Earlier this month, the nation witnessed its deadliest mass shooting since then, when Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik opened fire on a holiday party at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernadino, California, killing 14.
Although the death toll in both cases ranks them among the worst mass shootings in the United States, neither has the ignominous distinction of being the deadliest.
Our infographic looks at the 10 deadliest mass shootings in the United States--although, with a 6-way tie for 10th place, it actually covers 13 mass shootings.
