Two local men are finding themselves in need of an Oklahoma City sex crimes defense lawyer after being arrested this week on complaints of sex crimes against children. In unrelated cases, Oklahoma City police arrested Anthony Lee Vurgin, 42, and Justin Hughes, 32, both of Oklahoma City.
Vurgin was arrested at his home after police tracked his internet activity as part of a child pornography investigation. According to police, several pornographic videos involving children were found on Vurgin's laptop. Police are continuing their investigation to determine if any local children were victimized in the videos.
Vurgin was arrested on complaints of possession and distribution of child pornography and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, and he was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. Hughes was arrested in an unrelated case after the uncle of a 12-year-old girl reported that Hughes sexually assaulted the girl.
According to police, the girl said that Hughes has been sexually abusing her since Thanksgiving. She says that she told a friend about the assaults several months ago, but the alleged abuse was not reported to police until after the most recent incident early Wednesday morning.
Hughes was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of lewd acts with a minor and manufacturing child pornography. In any investigation, collection of evidence must be handled properly and within certain legal parameters.
